Verse I

Listen up cause the rhymes are like speech, natural like thunder, I wonder
How many Mark Fuhrman’s out there?
yearnin’ to kill, hatred burnin’
 I ponder…
causin’ mad pain inconspicuous.  Terror reigns, the situation is ridiculous.
What is this? Hidden evil purposes?
...and people gettin’ mad when the sad expression
of oppression results in Hip Hop sellin CD’s yellin "Kill the Cops"
  so you have to understand.

I have a hunch that a bad apple spoiled the bunch,
makes me reticent to support the police force, sets a precedent.

 "KRS for President,
…and Ice for Vice" they both warned us…Right?

Message is clear,  LA riots the results of despair
tOObizzy here, to represent,
Sometimes there’s a reason why we vent.

Chorus:

If you wanna know the truth, you’re gonna have to break down the wall of blue.  Yea
If you wanna know the truth, you’re gonna have to break down the wall of blue.  Yea
If you wanna know the truth, you’re gonna have to break down the wall of blue.  Yea
If we gonna know the truth, somebody got to break down the wall.

Verse II

You got to watch those intangibles, when they saw raucous behavior,
they wanna call us animals...but they don’t know about the rogue Cops
breakin your nose, searchin your clothes, stalkin’ you wherever you go,
No, it’s time for a shake up.

Wake up and take a good look.  Cause ‘aint no such thing as half way crooks.
Face it, the clean cut pretty boy is a racist,
not befitting the criminal stereotypes normally found in high places.
Because of what the bad cops do Good cops,
Can you blame the man that wants to kill you?
How can this man know the difference between you?
All he sees is a wall of blue.
All I see is your wall of blue.
All anyone sees is the wall of blue.
Abuse of power is an integrity issue...

Verse III

Has there been justice for the transit cops?
who were nearly stopped by their fellow cops < buckshot>
What was going through his mind as he fired?
Only God knows maybe ask the choir.
Perhaps in born conditions of fear were in him
Racism? …not goin’ there  "Beware of a black man with a gun cause he's dangerous"
Wasn't he told in the academy "You're one of us"
These are the things that make people yell: "We want justice for Desmond and Pernell"
That’s what I’m sayin’, that’s what I meant, sometimes there’s a reason why we vent.

Chorus:

If you wanna know the truth, you’re gonna have to break down the wall of blue.  Yea
If you wanna know the truth, you’re gonna have to break down the wall of blue.  Yea
If you wanna know the truth, you’re gonna have to break down the wall of blue.  Yea
If we gonna know the truth, somebody got to break down the wall, somebody got to break down the wall.

Somebody’s got to break it down

...Yes, I think it’s best and  time to assess the damage, rest in peace Johnny Gammage.

*The Wall of Blue denounces the "Blue wall of silence" - a code used by some cops to cover up evil deeds which sometimes includes murder. It appeals to the conscience of good cops and asks them to take a stand.
