What's My Claim?
(C) 2001 Bert Barrett for 2-BZ Media

Y'all probably want to know...what I'm about, why am I here and what do I want from Hip Hop?  My claim is that I am one of the best when it comes to Hip Hop that has the potential to move people.  I don't create Hip Hop that gives you a temporary high.  I create music that will stay with you for a life time, that will pop into your head when you're feeling down, and that will provide solutions to the problems you're having.

What I want from Hip Hop is more peeps that recognize that the very life of music is it's ability to bring comfort to the people who listen to it.  If this is not done, people will believe lies that Hip Hop is not for people over 30.  It is just not very smart.  We should be expanding our product's potential by broadening the art.  Hip Hop should become so large that genres begin to form within it.  Fine! If there is a difference in the ear between an old school brotha who has kids now and a new school brotha who may even be a kid himself, this is natural and it should be all good.

If the art doesn't become more broad, we will lose money.  People over 30 who grew up with Hip Hop will start listening to Jazz and other stuff. They will give up on Hip Hop because they will assume it's not for them.  Yo! As far as I'm concerned, Hip Hop has the potential to reach out and touch EVERYONE.  If we do this thing right, people from all walks of life will be regular consumers of our products.
