Statement
of Faith
For the purpose of maintaining general unity, WORLD FELLOWSHIP
has adopted the following Statement OF FAITH as revealed by the Holy
Spirit and the will of God. It expresses the beliefs we share as
a Church.
We do not presume that this statement is exhaustive. However,
it covers cardinal and fundamental truths for Christian living as we understand
them, and conforms to those things clearly set in order in the Holy Scriptures.
SCRIPTURES
We believe that the Scriptures are inspired.
The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired
of God
The Scriptures are the revelation of God to man, the infallible
and final
authoritative rule of faith and godly conduct.
(II Tim. 3:15-17; I Thess. 2:13; II Peter 1:20-21)
GOD
We believe that there is only One True God (the Triune) - God the Father,
Son and Holy Spirit, giving equal honor to all.
God had revealed Himself as the eternal "I AM", the Creator
of the Universe, and
the Redeemer of mankind.
There is unity in the One being in that the Father is the begetter,
the Son is the
Begotten and the Holy Spirit is the
One preceding from the Father and the Son.
These three persons in the Godhead are in a state of unity and
there is but one
Lord God Almighty and His name One.
(II Cor. 13:14; John 14:16-17; I John 1:3-4; Matt. 11:25-27; 28:19;
Luke 3:22; John 1:18; 15:26; 17:11,21; Zech. 14:9)
JESUS
We believe in the Deity and Exaltation of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures
declare His virgin
birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His work on the
cross, His bodily resurrection
form the dead and His exaltation to the right hand of
God.
Having been made both Lord and Christ, He sent His Holy Spirit
that we in the
name of Jesus might bow our knees and confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord.
(Heb. 1:3; 7:26; I Peter 2:22; 3:22; Phil. 2:9-11; Acts 1:9-11, 2:22,
32-36; 10:38; Rom. 14:11; I Cor. 15:3-4,24,28; II Cor. 5:21; Matt. 1:23;
28:6; Luke 1:31; 24:39)
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Baptism in the
Holy Spirit.
All believers should earnestly seek the promise of the Father
which is the Baptism
in the Holy Spirit and fire. With it comes the endowment
of power for life and
service, the bestowing of Spiritual gifts for use in the
work of the Ministry.
The Holy Spirit indwells, guides and enables us to live the Spirit-filled
life daily,
perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit is initially evidenced by the
physical sign of speaking
with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.
The speaking in tongues
in this instance is the same as a gift of tongues, but different
in purpose and use.
(Luke 24:29; Acts 1:4-8; 2:4, 42-43; 4:8; 8:12-17; 10:44-46; 11:14-16;
15:7-9; I Cor. 12:1-31; Heb. 12:28; Mark 16:20; Eph. 4:7-16; 5:18-20)
