Biography "Elle ROC"

Elle R.O.C. , a female rap artist with a singular powerful appeal.  This Connecticut-bred emcee has earned a name for herself as a solo artist with multiple performances throughout the U.S. and abroad over the last six years.  Have you "experienced" a song; so much that it didn't seem as if you were simply listening to it? If the answer is "no," than you have not heard Elle R.O.C. Elle R.O.C.'s music is aggressive in the most beautiful sense, as her voice cascades soulfully over hip hop tracks. To experience an Elle R.O.C. song is to know that you are being spoken to in the most intimate sense. Something is being shared with you from deep inside her heart, and this potent sentiment radiates from her songs in a gentle flood that sweeps across the listener's own heart.

Now a resident of Atlanta, Elle R.O.C. started writing raps at the age of eleven, when she fell in love with the artistic culture of hip hop. She knew immediately that this culture would be intensely involved in her future. As Elle R.O.C. and the hip hop culture simultaneously grew and matured, she felt a desire to unify hip hop with the peace and stability she experienced by growing up in a Christian family. This love of God through hip hop is the epitome of any Elle R.O.C. composition, and it's what makes her music so powerful.

Ironically, at one time in her life, Elle R.O.C was too shy to even stand before a classroom of peers. Now her music has taken her to performance stages as far away as London and Jamaica. Her music has been featured on several compilation CD's, most notably one entitled Sound of the Rebirth, a self titled LP by a family of rappers of whom Elle R.O.C. is the chief female emcee. The most successful single from that album, Virtuous, is a duet by Elle R.O.C and rapper Mark J.

Her upcoming LP, I Die Daily, features songs that range from mellow, unfeigned ballads to audacious verbal admonishments that dare you not to dance: all sincerely and honestly the words that God has put into her heart. Is the heart of hip hop dead? If you ask Elle R.O.C., the answer is "no"
